Hi, my name is Adelai Spears! I am an artist living and creating in Lawrence, Kansas. Although I mostly focus on ceramics, I also enjoy wood burning, painting, jewelry, and printmaking. 

My work is often shaped by the love I have for the outdoors and the native ecosystems around me. I especially enjoy using many different forms of surface decoration in my ceramic work to represent themes from the natural world. My ceramics are made through both hand-building and wheel throwing, and I enjoy making both functional and non-functional work. 

You can often find me hiking with my dog, working in my garden, and looking for wildlife. I am also a ceramics and preschool teacher at the Lawrence Arts Center, where I create my work.
